The man charged with the manslaughter of a baby in Manurewa last month can now be named.

Anthony Simon Pickering, 31, appeared in the Auckland High Court on Wednesday morning.

He has pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of 10-month-old Poseidyn Hemopo Pickering in September. The child died a day after he was taken from a Manurewa property to Starship Children's Hospital.

In court, the accused wore a t-shirt with a photo of Poseidyn with an angel halo.
