The worried parents of a missing French teenager last seen in Auckland seven months ago have renewed their calls to find their son.

Eloi Rolland was last seen at 7:26am on March 7 at the Fruitvale Rd train station in New Lynn, after he left his North Shore address the previous evening, police say.

Police enquiries on Eloi's phone also showed he was in the area of Piha Rd at 9:18am on March 7.

Eloi's parents Thierry and Catherine Rolland, who haven't been able to travel to New Zealand due to COVID-19 restrictions, posted a renewed plea to Facebook on Thursday.

Writing as if it were Eloi posting the message, the post said: "Today, Thursday, [I'm] 19 years old. October 1 is my birthday.

"I am a French student at Education First School in Auckland, New Zealand but I am a missing person.

"My parents are looking for me, their heart is with me and hope to find me safe and sound."

Eloi arrived in New Zealand in September 2019 to study English and was "in regular contact" with family several times a week.

In a statement two weeks after he went missing, his family said his disappearance "is very out of character and we are extremely worried".

"He has never run away from home and always stayed in contact with his family."

Eloi's family has set up a dedicated Facebook page where regular photos are posted to help remind people of his disappearance.

Police say Eloi speaks limited English and is described as 170 centimetres tall and thin build. He was last seen wearing a blue and white jacket, jeans and dark sneakers.
