The clothing has not yet been found and police would like to hear from anyone who has information on or may be able to assist with the retrieval of the items.

Jones' body was found near Lake Rotorua on the morning of October 18. Her death is being treated as unexplained and police are working to determine her last movements.

Detective Sergeant Caroline Wharton says Jones was the mother of two young children and is deeply missed by her large group of family and friends.

"We are committed to providing answers for all those who loved Melissa, but we need help," Wharton says.

"There are people in the community who will have information which could assist us with establishing what happened to Melissa, and we need them to get in touch with us."

Anyone who has information regarding the investigation and the items of clothing should contact the Police Ten 7 Information Line on 0800 107 4636.
