Two bodies have been found on the shore of Lake Taupō.
Police have confirmed that the bodies were discovered by a member of the public just after 7am on Friday near Mere Rd.
Enquiries are underway.
"At this stage, Police are working to establish the identities of the bodies, and a post mortem examination will be conducted," Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Yardley said.
"A scene guard will remain in place. Police are conducting further enquiries as to the circumstances."
