A man has been charged with murder over a fatal Whakatāne stabbing at the end of October.
Early in the morning on October 24 a man was taken to Whakatāne Hospital with serious stab wounds, which he died from.
Following a scene examination and an investigation, police say they have made an arrest.
"A 57-year-old man has been charged with murder and will be appearing in the Tauranga District Court tomorrow morning," a police spokesperson says.
"Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident."
