A person has died after being struck by a car near the Hawke's Bay town of Hastings.
Police confirmed there was a collision between a car and pedestrian at about 2am on Sunday, near the intersection of Taihape and Korokipo Rds.
Insp Marty Parker said the road remains closed.
"Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are now underway."
