A person has been found dead near Sulphur Point in Rotorua.
A spokesperson for police said a person had been found dead on Hautapu Road at 2:20pm on Thursday afternoon.
Officers are currently at the scene.
St John ambulance said they hadn't received a call out to Hautapu Road.
Sulphur Point is located behind the Rotorua Museum and events centre and is known for its geothermal activity.
