Shots fired at south Auckland house

A property in south Auckland was shot at on Saturday night, after reports of multiple firearm incidents in the area since Friday.

Police received a report of a firearm being discharged at a property on Bairds Rd in Ōtara at 10:05pm.

A police spokesperson said nobody was injured and those believed to be responsible left the scene in a vehicle shortly afterwards. 

Police attended and officers are currently making enquiries to establish the circumstances of what happened and who was involved.

According to Stuff, the shooting was the third incident of its kind on Saturday and fifth since Friday.

On Saturday, police received a similar report at Archibald St in Kelston, west Auckland at 5:20pm, and attended a shooting incident at Preston Rd in Ōtara at 2:24pm.

On Friday night police responded to three reports of gunfire and another incident where firearms were presented.

Enquiries into whether or not the Bairds Rd incident is linked to the other recent firearm incidents in Ōtara are ongoing.
