Coronavirus: Auckland managed isolation hotel evacuated after fire alarm goes off

An Auckland managed isolation hotel has been evacuated after the fire alarm went off on Saturday night.

Fire and Emergency raced to central Auckland's Pullman Hotel after reports of smoke and an alarm activation.

The occupants of the hotel rushed on the street where they were guarded by Defence Force personnel.

A witness said there were around 100 of them, and some weren't social distancing.

Police say they were assisting with traffic in the area.

One fire appliance remains at the scene.
