Coronavirus: No new cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand

No new cases of coronavirus have been detected in New Zealand in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health has revealed.

This includes imported cases - those recent arrivals staying in managed isolation and quarantine (MIQ) facilities - and cases from community transmission.

New Zealand has now gone 16 days without a community case.

Nine previously reported cases have now recovered, meaning the total number of active cases in the country drops to 61, while the tally of confirmed and probable cases remains at 2069.

On Thursday, New Zealand's laboratories completed another 6846 tests for COVID-19, bringing the total number of tests processed to date to 1,298,455.

Meanwhile the Pakistani cricket team - 10 players from which have tested positive for coronavirus since arriving on Kiwi soil - are still awaiting an exemption to start training.

Laboratories are processing the team's day nine swabs, which were taken on Thursday. The squad is still waiting to get the results back.
