Coronavirus: Three new cases of COVID-19 at New Zealand's border

There are three new imported cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand, the Ministry of Health has announced.

However for the 13th day in a row, no new community cases have been detected.

One of Tuesday's cases arrived from Germany via Singapore on November 23 and tested positive on their third day in managed isolation.

"Further testing indicates this case is historical but has not been reported overseas so it is included in New Zealand's totals," the ministry said in a statement.

The second person also arrived on November 23 from the US and was tested after a person close to them tested positive for COVID-19.

The third case arrived in New Zealand on November 26 from South Africa and tested positive on day three.

New Zealand's current active cases sit at 72, and the total number of confirmed cases is 1703.
