Six people are injured, two seriously after a crash north of Auckland.
The crash has closed a swathe of State Highway 1 between Wellsford and Warkworth.
Police rushed to the scene shortly before 4pm after receiving calls saying two vehicles had crashed.
Two people have been seriously injured, and one will be airlifted to hospital. A further four people are moderately injured.
Diversions are in place for south and northbound traffic and delays are to be expected.
The Serious Crash Unit will examine the scene.
