A pedestrian is in a serious condition after being hit by a van that also slammed into a nearby house in Auckland.
The crash happened on Great North Rd in Avondale at around 9:30am.
According to a police spokesperson, the van striked a parked car before hitting the pedestrian and then the house.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital and is in a serious condition.
Police are in attendance and the Police Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
Cordons are in place on Great North Road near Beatrix St and motorists are advised to expect delays in the area.
