Auckland 'firearms incident' leaves person with serious injuries

A firearms incident in Auckland has left a person with serious injuries.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Tui Rd in Papatoetoe at about 6:45pm on Saturday.

"A 22-year-old woman has been charged in relation to the firearms incident last night in Papatoetoe," a police spokesperson told Newshub.

"She is due to appear in the Manukau District Court tomorrow [Monday] on charges of wounding with intent to injure and unlawfully carrying a firearm."

The victim was taken to Middlemore Hospital and is in a stable condition, police said.
