A woman's body has been discovered in the search for a missing swimmer in Kaikōura.
The body was located in the water about 11am on Wednesday, after the woman was reported missing from South Bay on Tuesday night.
Her body has since been recovered and the death will be referred to the coroner, police said in a statement.
Police thanked those involved in the search operation.
