Those travelling north on Auckland's Southern Motorway are battling crawling traffic Saturday afternoon, after a single vehicle crash.
Police were called to the scene at the Mt Wellington off-ramp just before 11:30am.
One person is believed to be injured, and Waka Kotahi/NZ Transport Agency is advising commuters to use alternative routes where possible.
"The centre & right northbound lanes are CLOSED due to a crash on SH1 Southern Mway after Panama Rd Over-Bridge," NZTA tweeted.
"Northbound traffic is congested, please consider to use SH20 (Waterview Tunnel) & SH16 for north as alternative routes."
