A drive-by shooting is under investigation after bullets were fired at a central Auckland home in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

At around 1:45am, multiple shots were fired at the McCullough Ave property in the suburb of Mt Roskill. No one was injured in the shooting, however the bullets caused damage to the windows and to vehicles in the driveway.

Initial enquiries indicate the shooting was "not a random incident", Auckland City Police Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Baldwin said in a statement.

"Police are continuing to make enquiries which include a scene examination, and speaking with a number of different people," Snr Sgt Baldwin said.

Auckland City Police is now appealing to the public for information.

"If anyone in the Mt Roskill area noticed any suspicious activity, please contact Auckland City Crime Squad on 09 302 6557."

Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
