Several suspects have been arrested in relation to the alleged theft of valuable art and antiques from a property in Hamilton East, Waikato Police confirmed on Monday.

Three men aged 41, 45 and 49 are due to appear in the Hamilton District Court on Monday, jointly charged with burglary.

A search warrant was executed at a Hamilton address on Saturday, with officers recovering some of the stolen items. However, a painting by esteemed New Zealand artist C.F. Goldie titled 'Sleep 'tis a Gentle Thing', stolen in the alleged burglary, remains unfound.

Police are now appealing to the public for information that may lead to the recovery of the artwork.
