A homicide investigation has been launched after a man died after being dropped off at Christchurch Hospital with injuries.
Detective Senior Sergeant Joel Syme says police have been notified that a man taken to hospital on Friday morning with critical injuries has died.
A homicide investigation has now been launched with officers working to understand the circumstances of the death.
"Anyone with information that may assist Police is asked to contact 105, quoting file number 210101/6148.
"Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
