A homicide investigation has been launched after a man's body was discovered at a Christchurch property on Wednesday morning.
The body was located shortly before 9:45am at a property on Main North Road in the suburb of Papanui, a police spokesperson confirmed in a statement.
One person is assisting authorities with their enquiries into the death.
"We believe this is an isolated incident and we want to reassure members of the public that there are no general safety concerns for the wider Papanui community," the spokesperson said.
A scene guard is in place at the property while officers continue their investigation.
