A 55-year-old woman has appeared in court in relation to the discovery of a man's body that was reportedly buried at a Christchurch property.
Rena Maloney was charged with murder after the body was located at the property on Main North Rd, Papanui just before 9:45am on Wednesday.
Maloney appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Thursday and was remanded in custody without plea.
Police said on Wednesday a guard would remain in place at the Papanui property for several days while a scene examination continues.
The incident is believed to be isolated and there were no concerns for the wider community's safety, police said.
