A woman has been charged following the "suspicious" death of a man in the Bay of Plenty town of Kawerau on Wednesday.
Simon Littlefair, 57, was found injured at the intersection of Newall and Whittaker Streets at about 7:10am, before he was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Friday afternoon, Police confirmed a 37-year-old woman had been charged in relation to the death and would be in court on the coming weekend.
"The woman has been charged with assaulting with a weapon and is due to appear in the Hamilton District Court on Saturday, January 2, 2021," a spokesperson said.
"Police offer their sympathies to the friends and whanau of Mr Littlefair."
