Coronavirus: Ministry of Health releases new locations of interest following more confirmed cases in Auckland outbreak

Two new locations of interest have been identified in Auckland by the Ministry of Health after two siblings of a Papatoetoe High School student tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday night.

These people are the tenth and 11th confirmed cases linked to the latest Auckland cluster.

One of the cases works at Kmart Botany. They were there on Friday February 19 and Saturday February 20 between 3:30pm and 10:30pm. This Kmart is now a location of interest.

Their sibling, the ninth case announced, was confirmed as having COVID-19 on Tuesday morning. They got tested on Monday after reporting a loss of smell and taste. They hadn't been tested before that, despite students being asked to get a test last week.

All students at the school are now being asked to get retested to ensure there are no additional cases.

Students and staff can get tested at the school's pop-up testing station. Some household contacts will also be asked to get tested again, but they should do this at a community centre to keep pressure off the school testing site.
