Fire crews are battling a large house fire in New Plymouth which residents in the area say started with a loud explosion.
Five fire crews have been at the scene on Resolution Place since 6am on Friday.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson told Newshub many residents reported hearing a large bang before the house erupted into flames.
