A man has died two weeks after being assaulted in Manawatu Prison.
Police have now upgraded the case to a homicide investigation, and say it's possible further charges could be laid against a 29-year-old man previously charged with wounding with intent.
He will appear in Dannevirke District Court on 30 April.
The victim was assaulted at the prison on 11 February and died in hospital on Wednesday.
