A man has been hospitalised after falling from a power pole he was working on in Wellington.

The man was working on the pylons at Churton Park when he plummeted 10 metres to the ground below.

Fire and Emergency told Newshub the man was cleaning when he fell.

A Wellington Free Ambulance spokesperson told Newshub the difficult terrain meant extricating the man was challenging, but he would be transported to Wellington Hospital with moderate injuries to his legs.
