One person has died following a water incident in Mount Maunganui this afternoon.
Emergency services were called about 2:25pm on Saturday to the Pilot Bay area where a person was found unconscious.
They were given medical treatment however the victim died at the scene.
Police say the death will be referred to the Coroner.
