A teenager is in hospital after an alleged stabbing in the north Auckland suburb of Ōrewa.
Officers received the report of the stabbing on Saturday afternoon and were called to West Hoe Road at around 1:20pm, a police spokesperson told Newshub. Reports indicate the alleged assault took place in Victor Eaves Park.
An 18-year-old man was taken to Auckland Hospital with moderate injuries, the spokesperson said. Another person, a youth, has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The age of the alleged offender, who's due to appear in the North Shore District Court next week, was not disclosed.
"Police continue to make enquiries into the circumstances of the incident," the spokesperson said.
