A managed isolation worker at Auckland's Grand Millennium Hotel has tested positive for COVID-19, the Ministry of Health has confirmed.

They say the information available so far indicates the worker is asymptomatic and further investigation is being undertaken on Monday evening.

"The managed isolation worker and their immediate household members are isolating at home in Auckland this evening," the ministry says.

"Additional tests and whole genome sequencing are currently being arranged."

The ministry says further information will be provided as it becomes available.
