No new community cases of COVID-19 turned up overnight. The good news comes as Auckland prepares to come out of level 3 restrictions.

Associate Minister of Health Peeni Henare made the announcement on Newshub Nation on Saturday morning.

"There are no new community cases to be reported at this point in time, so the status quo stands from the announement that was made on Friday afternoon," he told host Simon Shephard.

"All good news."

Auckland is set to drop to alert level 2 and the rest of the country level 1 on Sunday morning.

"I am confident in talking with health officials and with my colleagues, we've gained considerable confidence we've managed to contain this particular cluster... We're looking forward to a shift in alert levels at 6am on Sunday."

No new community cases have been picked up since last weekend.
