Wellington club bouncer filmed stomping onto man's face

A Wellington nightclub bouncer has been filmed stomping a man on the head as he laid on the ground bleeding.

Police were called to the nightclub 'Boston on Blair' in Te Aro at around 1am on Sunday after reports of a major injury.

Footage of the incident circulating on social media shows a man lying on the floor before a bouncer, wearing a 'security' t-shirt hits him with a patio-style heater.

A woman posted photos of her cut lip on social media, claiming the bouncer also pushed the outdoor heater into her.

"Bouncers at the nightclub Boston on Blair. The f**ken state of you… Such an unprofessional, ruthless and violent attack on a young male," she wrote on Facebook.

"Myself and friends walked past to aid him helplessly getting beaten up by men whose job it is to look out for trouble and not cause it.

"The bouncer also pushed an outdoor heater into us resulting in stitches to my lip."

A Wellington Free Ambulance told Newshub the patient is in a moderate condition.

"Wellington Free Ambulance were called to an incident on Blair Street around 1am on Sunday," a spokesperson said.

"We responded to treat one patient who was in a moderate condition and transported to Wellington Hospital. We cannot confirm gender or nature of injuries.

"We cannot confirm if this is the same incident referred to below, but this is the only incident we attended on Blair Street in the early hours of Sunday morning."

A police spokesperson said the assault is being investigated.

Boston on Blair has not responded to a request for comment.
