A man has been injured in a shooting in the South Island's Tasman District.
Newshub understands multiple emergency services vehicles are at the scene on Fry St, Motueka.
A St John spokesperson said a man has been flown to Nelson Hospital with moderate injuries.
In a statement, Nelson Bays area commander Insp Paul Borrell said officers are trying to locate another man believed to be involved in the incident, who was last seen leaving in a vehicle near Fry St.
Borrell said it's understood the men may be known to each other.
"All police currently attending this incident are temporarily armed," he said. "More details will follow as they become available."
