A police investigation has been launched after a man was found critically injured on a west Auckland footpath on Friday.
Police told Newshub they were called to Metcalfe Rd in Ranui shortly after 3:10pm.
A man was found on the footpath with critical injuries and was taken to hospital, a spokesperson confirmed.
Police said they are "currently in the area and at this early stage are making enquiries into the circumstances of what has occurred".
