One person has died and multiple others are suffering serious injuries following a crash in Northland.
A truck and a car collided on Pokapu Rd, Ruakākā at around 4:30pm on Thursday, a police spokesperson said.
"Sadly one person has died at the scene, with another person in a critical condition," they said.
"Two other people in the vehicle are in a serious condition."
A helicopter was dispatched to the scene of the collision, the spokesperson said, and the serious crash unit has launched an investigation.
An hour earlier, another person died in a crash near Napier Road in Havelock North.
"One person has died following a crash involving a motorcycle in a car park area. The crash was initially reported to police at about 3:30pm," a spokesperson said.
"Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances."
