Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is holding a press conference before the Pasifika Festival on Saturday, where she is expected to pay tribute to Prince Philip, who died on Friday night (NZ time).

Ardern issued a statement shortly after the Duke of Edinburgh died, where she said: "Our thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen at this profoundly sad time. On behalf of the New Zealand people and the Government, I would like to express my sincere condolences to Her Majesty and to all the Royal Family."
