An incredible waterspout has been spotted at a Napier beach on Wednesday afternoon.
Tyrone Gooch was driving home when he spotted the large column of water and spray at Marine Parade around 5:30pm.
A video supplied to Newshub shows the swirling mass spitting water along the coastline.
"I would get the f**k out of here," he exclaims in the video.
Gooch told Newshub it was a "pretty crazy experience".
Instability over the North Island has seen a number of significant downpours and isolated thunderstorms, according to WeatherWatch.
The forecaster expects the showers to clear on Wednesday night.
