Dramatic video has been captured of a truck on Wellington's waterfront engulfed in flame and spewing smoke through the air.
The footage, supplied to Newshub by a Mainfreight truck driver, shows flames ripping through the back end of a Daily Freight truck.
The truck was parked at the company's Wellington warehouse at Aotea Quay in the CBD.
Huge plumes of black smoke can be seen rising into the air, with one witness telling Newshub it was visible from Te Papa, more than 2km away. They said Sky Stadium was completely shrouded by smoke.
Central Fire Communications shift Manager Mike Wanoa told Newshub it arrived at the scene on Friday afternoon to a "fully involved" blaze, but the fire has since been contained.
Four crews were sent, but just one remains to dampen any hot spots and assess the damage.
