Police have charged a 48-year-old woman with murder following the death of a woman in Napier in February.
A 29-year-old woman was assaulted in Pirimai, Napier on the morning of February 1 and died in hospital as a result of her injuries on February 28.
On Wednesday, police confirmed a woman had been charged with her murder. She had previously been charged with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to the assault.
The 48-year-old will appear in the Napier District Court later on Wednesday.
