Auckland traffic: Truck crash blocks Southern Motorway, delays expected

A truck crash is causing chaos for Auckland commuters on Tuesday morning, with motorists warned to expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) says the right northbound lanes after the link onto State Highway 16 at the Spaghetti Junction are blocked.

"One middle lane remains available," Waka Kotahi NZTA said in a statement. "Pass with care and expect delays."

According to police, the crash happened at about 4:45am.

"The driver sustained minor injuries," a police statement said. "A diversion is being put in place at Ramarama however the scene is expected to take some time to clear and motorists are asked to avoid the area."
