There is one new case of COVID-19 in managed isolation (MIQ) and none in the community, the Ministry of Health said on Sunday.

The case, who is staying in an Auckland MIQ facility, returned to New Zealand from India via Qatar and tested positive on day six of their stay.

Aotearoa's total number of active cases is 17, with one previously confirmed case now reclassified as under investigation. This means the country's total number of confirmed cases remains at 2326.

Victoria Outbreak

The Ministry of Health says the number of travellers who arrived in New Zealand from Melbourne between May 20 and 25 continues to fluctuate as additional information is received.

They say the "original cohort of travellers from Melbourne" now totals 4788.

While the ministry says "97 percent of travellers have either already been tested; are exempt from testing; or require no further action", there are still 146 who have not returned a test result yet.

"Contact tracers have emailed and twice called each of these 146 travellers and will be recording test results once these are logged."

So far, 2924 travellers have returned a negative test result, 203 are exempt from testing as they are under the age of 12, and 1515 "require no further action".

NZ COVID Tracer

The ministry says it's "incredibly important" people continue to use the NZ COVID Tracer app to keep a record of where they have been this Queen's Birthday weekend.

"Queen's Birthday weekend is traditionally the perfect long weekend for people to travel to see loved ones. It also presents the perfect opportunity for people to scan in wherever they go, using the NZ COVID Tracer App.

"Please scan QR codes to keep a private digital diary of where you've been.

"Scanning in can help support contact tracers in tracing potential close and casual contacts of people who have tested positive for COVID-19."

The app now has 2,842,929 registered users, the ministry says. Poster scans have reached 280,632,666 and users have created 10,606,852 manual diary entries.
