No new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in managed isolation facilities in the past 24 hours - and there remains no evidence of the virus in the community.

Two patients hospitalised with COVID-19 remain in a stable condition at Auckland's Middlemore Hospital, the Ministry of Health said in an update on Tuesday.

One person who underwent a pre-departure test before leaving New Zealand has been classified as a historical case. Historical infections are not considered infectious as the individual has recovered, but may still have residual viral fragments present.

Since January 1, 2021, 537 people have tested positive for the virus in New Zealand - 75 of which have since been classified as historical infections.

New Zealand's total number of confirmed cases remains unchanged at 2353. One previously confirmed case has now been classified as 'under investigation'.

As of Tuesday, four people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of active cases to 23.

To date, laboratories have processed 2,200,141 tests, with 2694 swabs processed on Monday.

Quarantine-free travel pause

The suspension of quarantine-free travel with the state of Victoria is set to continue until Thursday, subject to a review on Wednesday.

Anyone who is eligible can continue returning to New Zealand on 'green flights', meaning they will not be required to isolate when they arrive. However, returnees must provide evidence of a negative test, taken within three days of departure. A PCR test is strongly preferred.

All passengers travelling on a return 'green flight' must also complete the Nau Mai Râ contact information and complete the health declaration to confirm they have not visited a location of interest in Victoria.

Travellers who are not covered by the restrictions in Victoria - and who have not visited a location of interest at the specified times - can still travel quarantine-free from other states and will not require a pre-departure test.

All travellers to New Zealand are encouraged to use the NZ COVID-19 Tracer app, stay put if they are sick, and to wear a mask on all flights and public transport.

Locations of interest in VIC, QLD, NSW

Health authorities in Australia continue to announce locations of interest connected to the current outbreak in Victoria.

Anyone in New Zealand who was in regional New South Wales (NSW) between June 1-5, or regional Queensland between June 5-8, is urged to check the following websites to determine whether they visited any of the identified exposure sites.

Anyone at these locations of interest at the specified times should call Healthline on 0800 358 5453, get tested and self-isolate until a negative result is returned.

Anyone who was at a location of interest at the specified times cannot travel to New Zealand within 14 days of the exposure event.
