A Givealittle page has been set up for a mother and her three kids who "lost everything" in a devastating house fire on Friday morning.

Emergency services responded to a fire at Crystal Julius' home in Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt at around 6:45am on Friday.

Julius, who is 38-weeks pregnant, was able to get her three children out safely but her house was left gutted by flames.

Her brother, Brendan Julius, has since set up a Givealittle page to fundraise for new belongings for the family.

"Early hours of this morning my sister's house caught on fire. Luckily enough she was able to get the three kids out safely while being 38-weeks pregnant. Everything has been lost in the fire," Brendan said in the page description.

"Any donations are greatly appreciated and the funds will go towards anything and everything house-related/clothing for my sister and her family."

Fire and Emergency assistant area commander Gareth Hughes says the family was saved by their smoke alarms.

"It shows how fast fire spreads and why it’s so important to have working smoke alarms. Ultimately having working smoke alarms saved the lives of this family."

Hughes also confirmed four people were taken to Wellington Free Ambulance as a precaution.

Brendan says Crystal had no contents insurance for the property she rented. He says she needs clothing, house items, items for her soon to arrive newborn and for her children.

The fire follows a blaze that engulfed four houses on Hanson St in Wellington at 10:40pm on Sunday night.

The situation quickly escalated to a level five alarm, which meant crews were summoned from as far away as Upper Hutt. More than 20 fire engines attended the scene and it is being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Fire and Emergency at the time of the fire confirmed to Newshub one person was admitted to hospital.
