One person is in hospital with critical injuries and a second is in a serious condition following reports of a head-on collision in Wellington.
Police were called to State Highway 1 near Mackays Crossing at 12:36am
Waka Kotahi (NZ Transport Agency) closed the road for three hours while the serious crash unit was at the scene.
The road is now open.
