Three people linked to the Head Hunters gang have been arrested for allegedly getting more than half a million dollars in fraudulent loans.
Five search warrants across Northland, Auckland and Hamilton led to the arrest of a 30-year-old woman, and two others - a 28-year-old and a 34-year-old.
The woman is facing 22 fraud charges and the other two are facing several charges - including obtaining by deception.
Three cars and two properties were seized as a result of the bust.
Police allege the woman has been scamming finance companies into offering her loans to purchase cars since 2017.
Falsified bank documents were used to get loans approached and then fake settlement statements were used to get more loans and money.
A total of six companies were defrauded of $500,000 in this scam.
All three alleged offenders are linked to the Head Hunters.
They will appear in the Whangārei, Hamilton and Auckland District Courts.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kevan Verry says the bust shows the police's commitment to holding organised criminals to account.
"The Northland Organised Crime Unit is determined to target those who make a living from illegal activities and committed to hold those people accountable for their actions.
We're also focused on stripping them of their wealth and the money they've made through crime."
