Wellington Police are seeking the public's help to identify a man who has information on an assault which took place in a supermarket car park last Saturday.

Police believe the man caught on CCTV footage can provide information to help the investigation.

The hoody he is wearing is described as pink in colour.

On the 19th of June Police responded to reports of a group of people fighting in the New World Chaffers car park, off Wakefield Street.

Officers arrived at the scene and four men were taken into custody for fighting and disorderly behaviour.

There was one victim who was taken to hospital by ambulance.

He had surgery and remains in a serious but stable condition.

No one has been charged but the investigation is ongoing.
