A woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car in the south Auckland suburb of Pakuranga.
Police rushed to Reeves Rd at 5:40pm to find the woman in serious condition.
Minutes earlier, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter had arrived on the scene and a doctor and intensive care paramedic assisted the patient.
Ambulances soon arrived on the scene and took her to Auckland City Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
The roads have been cordoned off around Pakuranga Plaza and police have asked drivers to avoid the area.
Diversions will be in place.
