A 32-year-old has been arrested after a woman was shot at a Wellington address at the weekend.
Police said a 41-year-old was left with a serious gunshot wound following the incident in the suburb of Vogeltown on Sunday.
Det Insp Darrell Harpur says police executed search warrants on Wednesday and a woman has since been arrested.
"The 32-year-old was taken into custody from a Carterton property and has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to the shooting," he said in a statement.
Harpur said the alleged offender appeared in the Masterton District Court earlier on Wednesday and was remanded in custody.
He said the victim remains in hospital in a stable condition. Police would still like to hear from anyone with any information about the incident, Harpur said.
"Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a distinctive blue early-2000s station wagon in the Wellington city area between 1:30pm and 2:30pm on Sunday.
"This includes anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage.
