Police 'extremely concerned' for safety of Wellington man missing almost a week

Police in Wellington are "extremely concerned" for the safety of a local man who has been missing for almost a week.

Sandy Calkin, 30, was last seen by his friends on Courtenay Place in the city's party precinct at around 1am on Saturday, July 10.

A short time later, he was captured on CCTV walking down Queens Wharf near Shed 6. He has not been seen nor heard from since.

Calkin is described as being roughly 170cm tall (about 5 foot 7 inches) and of slim build. He was last seen in a maroon hoodie and blue jeans.

He was carrying a backpack at the time of his disappearance. 

His family are also extremely worried about him and anyone with information is urged to call 111, quoting file number 210712/3425.
