A serious crash on State Highway 2 has closed Remutaka Hill Road until further notice.
The Serious Crash Unit are at the scene alongside the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
Police have indicated the road will be closed for a while, advising motorists to avoid the area.
One person sustained serious injuries after crashing into the side of a bank.
