Coronavirus: Full list of locations of interest in Auckland and North Island - Sunday August 22, 2021

There are now almost 300 locations of interest across Auckland, parts of Wellington, and the central North Island.

There are now 72 cases of COVID-19 in the community, 21 of which were announced on Sunday.

Naturally, more cases mean more places where people may have been exposed to the virus - and the Ministry of Health has now updated its list with dozens more locations.

The ministry has removed locations that were visited before August 7. The earliest location of interest is now The Lula Inn in central Auckland, while the latest is a laundromat in Otara that was visited on Saturday morning.

New locations of interest include a Countdown supermarket in central Auckland, a laundromat in Otara, and more kindergartens and early learning centres.

A searchable list of locations of interest is available here.

What to do if you've been at a location of interest

The Ministry of Health advises anyone who has been at one of the listed locations at the date and time highlighted to get a test immediately, self-isolate and call Healthline on 0800 358 5453.

Anyone who is a household contact of a person who has been at a location of interest is required to isolate at home until a negative test result is returned.

Speaking to The AM Show on Thursday, Director-General of Health, Dr Ashley Bloomfield, reiterated the importance of keeping up-to-date with the latest locations.

"This reflects the demographic of our cases - there are a large number of locations of interest. We need everyone to keep an eye on those," he said.

"Anyone who is an essential worker… if they have been at one of those locations of interest, they need to not go out and about - they need to stay at home and get tested. With the rest of the population in an alert level 4 situation, that is extremely important."
